SERVICE DOGS
Your Personal Dog
As mentioned, we are selective in the dogs we choose. However, people may have a dog they want to "convert" into a service dog. There is a process to go through: You must submit a Service Dog Application, necessasry documentation, and allow us to observe your dog at our facility for one week. We will evaluate and test your dogs temperament, ability to learn, confidence, and their overall ability to do this work. There is a non-refundable fee for this evaluation. Our training programs for both the therapy dog and service dog are rigorous...as it should be! These dogs need to be dependable in so many facets and yet be terrific companions.
Not every dog is suitable for such work. So we have put in place stipulations and tests to help determine solid candidates for this type of work.
Service / Therapy Dog Training
THERAPY DOGS
Therapy trained dogs are typically involved in visitations at nursing homes, hospitals, children's hospitals and other similar establishments. Therapy dogs are proven to lower blood pressure and heart rates, improve morale and environment, and even encourage memory recall!
Your Personal Dog
As mentioned, we are selective in the dogs chosen for these activities. However, you may have a dog that is suited for this task. There is a process to go through. First, medical documentation from your veterinarian stating that your dog is healthy and up-to-date on all required vaccinations. You will need to allow us to observe your dog at our facility for one week. We will evaluate and test your dog during their stay. There is a non-refundable fee for this evaluation.
